Aufgrund der tollen Bewertungen und Bilder buchten wir das Kapievi für unseren dreitägigen Abstecher in den Regenwald. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und das Zimmer wusste auf jeden Fall zu überzeugen. Die ganze Anlage ist sehr schön gestaltet, aber es gibt auch einige Einschnitte, die uns gestört haben: die Dusche hatte zu keiner Tageszeit warmes Wasser. Am Pool fanden Bauarbeiten statt und die Terrasse am Pool ist mit ganzen zwei Liegen (und ansonsten nur Plastikstühlen) nicht sonderlich einladend.
Das hochgepriesene Abendmenü überzeugte uns an beiden Abenden nicht. Es war gut, aber keineswegs so exotisch und außergewöhnlich wie in den Bewertungen dargestellt wird - eher gute Hausmannskost.
Außerdem war der Service im Restaurant extrem langsam und unaufmerksam. Preislich war hier aber alles in Ordnung (das 3-gängige Abendmenü kostet etwa 60 Soles pro Person).
Alles in allem war es trotzdem eine schöne Erfahrung!

This is a really nice place to stay in Puerto Maldonado! It is not near the town and not particularly walkable so you will need to taxi to get water, snacks, cash. (NOTE: the local airport does not have a currency counter and I struggled to get the local currency in town so make sure you get cash in Lima or wherever you’re coming from)
Due to circumstances, I didn’t have any cash when I landed to take a taxi to the property. The property did advertise an airport shuttle but that is just calling a $$ taxi, which is still helpful. Luckily, they did help me by paying the taxi driver in cash when I got there and charging my card.
The property is very beautiful and has the occasional animals. I would highlight that there is a lot of still water around the property so the mosquitoes were pretty severe when I was here, despite covering myself in bug spray every day. (This is nothing against the hotel and more of a note to travelers.) This is a sustainable property so the hot water is limited and the food is all vegetarian and that actually did not take away from the experience at all! The food was INCREDIBLE, both breakfast and dinner! The dinners in particular were absolutely amazing and criminally affordable. If you have cash to go into town and get to the airport easily, I would say this is the best place to stay in Puerto Maldonado.

Phenomenal experience staying at the Kapievi for 3 nights. Anthony and his team are expert hosts and very nice. We felt very well taken care of. There were almost no misquotes at the ecolodge which was an added plus - we didn’t experience that elsewhere in Peurto Maldonado. The restaurant at the ecolodge was incredible as well - lots of fresh smoothies, fruits and veggies. The complimentary breakfast was great too - you get fruit, a main and a fresh fruit smoothie every morning. Anthony and his team helped to recommend tours and called us taxis making everything easy. Book this place now!
